Cirque Du Soleil’s LUZIA Red Carpet Opening Night

Bravo! Brava! The circus has finally made its way to town, and I had front row seats to witnessed it all. The internationally known entertainment company Cirque du Soleil recently premiered one of their newest shows called LUZIA in little’ol Orlando…and boy was it a show. As I made my way over to The Florida Mall, I immediately spotted the big white circus tent from practically miles away. What I love most about the Cirque Du Soleil’s shows is the authenticity they bring to every venue.

Regardless of the era of time, once one enters those magnificent 5-story high tents, you feel as though you’ve traveled back in time. This year’s show was themed after the country of Mexico. Various performances and props possessed the same fabric of Mexico’s rich culture. One of the most eye-boggling segments in the show was when a contortionist literally sat on his head…yes—he sat on his head!

Dancers, singers, men and women flying 50 feet up in the air only to land on each other’s heads perfectly…the show had it all.

During intermission, multiple popcorn, candy and food stands were available for guest to indulge in. Miniature circus games and photo booths as well were available. I truly felt as though I was in a 1940s circus show. If you haven’t already, make sure to pick up tickets to see the Cirque Du Soleil’s LUZIA show located at The Florida Mall. This is a show you won’t want to miss! – David Plowden, David’s Manor.
