New York Fashion Week – Men’s Autumn/Winter 2020

In the words of SJP, the one time of year that brings together some of the most fashionable people in the Big Apple is Fashion Week. Just last week I ventured back to my hometown New York City to attend its annual Men’s Fashion Week, held in the heart of New York. Ironically, this was my first time being invited to Men’s Fashion Week, as I usually attend the September rendition of NYFW, which in fact is the largest fashion week in the country and probably the world.

As I touched down into the city that never sleeps, I checked into The Roosevelt Hotel located just a hop away from Grand Central Station.

Even though I still have family that reside in New York, anytime I travel for leisure to this overpopulated state, I like to try out different hotels. The Roosevelt, in my opinion, is the perfect spot to showcase the old architecture of New York since it’s one of the city’s landmarks.

This season of NYFW Men’s Autumn/Winter 2020 was jam-packed with some amazing and unique designers, both known and unknown. One thing I notably enjoyed about many of the collections I was able to view this year was the immense amount of diversity that was incorporated in each design. From different aesthetics, cultures, ethnic backgrounds, colors and even some gender-bending styles.

A few of the designers included Cater Young, Sperry, Le Tigre, Timo Weiland and HIM NYC. I decided to sport a very vibrant and colorful ensemble to the shows as well. One of my favorite looks I wore was a variation of burgundy, pink and white.

It definitely made a statement in this very busy and robust city. – David Plowden, David’s Manor.
