Of all the vacation trips that I have taken New Orleans was by far the most informative and creative trip I have gone on There is really something about the city of New Orleans, the thing that everyone talks about that has completely captivated me. Once I arrived into the city of New Orleans we checked into the Le Pavilion Hotel which is smack-dab right in the middle of New Orleans. I didn’t even have to rent a car since everything was in walking distance. Screen Shot 2015-10-10 at 4.28.48 AM
I checked into my room, changed my clothes, and then went off to begin to explore New Orleans. I had many activities planned out for each day. The first day was a private tour around the cemeteries of New Orleans. I actually got to view Marie Laveau’s grave and actually got to take a few pics next to it. After the cemetery tour was complete I went off to the parade that was being conducted on Bourbon Street. Dancers, trumpets, you name it! It all was there and in sync at that. Once I got back to the hotel we spent sometime inside and then we went off to eat at Broussard’s, a very high end French restaurant. The next day in New Orleans I had a trip planned to view the Swamp Bayou, a place that housed many alligators, which I was very afraid of but I managed to snap some amazing shots. Our tour guide took us all around the swamp on a speed boat. This was my first time actually sailing through a swamp in a speed boat and I totally would do it again. The last day in New Orleans was a very packed one. In the morning I had a city tour where I actually was taken around the city of New Orleans first. After the city tour was over our tour guide actually took us to visit two Plantations. We visited Oak Alley Plantation and Laura Plantation. The tour touched me as I got to view first hand the places and quarters of where slaves were kept. Screen Shot 2015-09-30 at 2.36.11 AMAfter the tour of the Plantations I was taken back to my hotel, where I had a ferry ride planned. We took a ferry ride tour around New Orleans, and we actually got to view the damns and levies of where they broke when Katrina hit. Once the Ferry ride was over the tour guide took us back to our Hotel only to find an invitation letter to a Ball under my door. Yes a Ball! I had never been to one before so I told my colleagues, the ones that came on the trip with me, about the Ball and they actually decided to go. The Ball was at The Ritz Carlton Hotel and boy was it beautiful. Oh and did I forget to mention  we took a carriage ride to the Ball! Doesn’t that sound familiar. Anyways New Orleans was a place I would never forget, and I can assure you I will be going back in the future. – David Plowden, Mod’s Manor
