Food Tasting at Deep Blu Seafood Grille

I have a habit of finding myself wandering into lavish hotels and trying some of their finest foods for some reason. I say this because recently, I did just that. I had the pleasure of indulging in one of my most glamorous food tastings experiences to date, which was hosted by the incomparable magazine powerhouse, Orlando Magazine. My lovely Manor attendees, listen to me when I say, it was nothing short of impeccable. Deep Blu Seafood Grille, which is located inside of Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek, took me into the deep depths of the Atlantic ocean for just a few hours. Not only is this restaurant in the perfect location for their hotel guests, but individuals who have reservations at the restaurant can even use their valet service—and you all know how much I love valet. Once I arrived, I was engulfed by the hotel’s breathtaking views. The restaurant contains it’s own bar and lounge area for visitors who rather stand and mingle before entering their restaurant’s dining area. As Orlando Magazine’s amazing hosts guided us to our seats, I took in the magnificent decor of the dining room. 2-story high ceilings, and chandeliers—oh how I love chandeliers. As you all know, I have a knack for architecture—hence the manor—so  Deep Blu Seafood Grille’s dinning room was right up my alley. Once we were seated, we were immediately greeted by their tenured chef, Chef Wade McLamb. McLamb has an intensive amount of experience in the culinary arts, and he wasn’t afraid to inform us of some of his favorite cuisines. Soon after the chef’s brief speech, the food began to arrive! From appetizers to mouth watering dishes of massively large lobster tails stuffed with shrimp, potatoes and cheese, I just couldn’t resist myself from stuffing my face with as much seafood my stomach could handle.

One of my favorite items from the menu was the delicious Red Snapper, which consisted of local sweet corn succotash, a baby herb salad and a finishing touch of vinaigrette dressing. A 1/2 main loaded lobster tail caused everyone’s mouth to water uncontrollably. I hadn’t come across such a glorious combination of seafood favorites before like the one at Deep Blu. The lobster tail was diced in parmesan breadcrumbs, which gave it the perfect crunch, bernaise, scalloped potatoes, and shrimp—yes, shrimp! Stuffed lobster with shrimp inside of it—genius!  And of course, it wouldn’t be a proper food tasting without dessert. Ice cream drizzled with caramel dressing greeted me, and a surprising combination of bourbon and baileys was an item on Deep Blu Seafood Grille’s menu that I’ve never tasted before. One thing is for sure, I know exactly where my next hotel/restaurant staycation will be at. Thank you Deep Blu Seafood Grille, Orlando Magazine and Wyndham Resorts! – David Plowden, David’s Manor.
