Food Tasting at The Edison (The Impossible Burger)

Impossible is actually quite possible when it comes to meat…or should I say a very convincing replica of it. The Edison, one of Disney Springs’s newest restaurants—which dawns a 1920s industrial gothic-styled theme—recently introduced a burger that’s sending all of Central Florida’s vegans dashing to try it. And I myself—a proud meat-eater—can honestly say, I was surprisingly impressed by it as well. I had the pleasure of attending a food tasting at this glamorous restaurant. The Edison is truly one of those places that’s more than just an average restaurant in my opinion. Live bands, dancing flapper girls and even an acrobat dancing on dangling ropes—The Edison is the one-stop-shop for entertainment and food. As I arrived, I was greeted by the Edison team and quickly seated. Their servers were very friendly and attentive and quickly began bringing over the dishes we were ecstatic to taste. The main course of the night, and the dish we were so eager to test, was the impossible burger—a burger that looks and practically tastes like meat but is astonishingly far from it. When I initially bit into the burger, I was under the assumption that it was meat—a few of my fellow bloggers were under the same impression as well.

However, after nearly a few more bites and a very informative staff—we discovered that it wasn’t and was actually a vegetarian alternative for individuals who rather not chow down on a cow for the night. Amazing right! Not only was the Impossible Burger mouthwatering but so were the delicious fries that came along with it. Mule drinks were provided as a thirst quencher…and something else that really pinged my interest was one of their dessert items. A lollipop tree—yes, I said that right! The Edison offers a rather mind-boggling dessert option which replicates an actual lollipop tree. It was nothing I’ve ever seen before. Make sure to stop by The Edison any time you’re in Disney Springs, and if you’re a real meat-eater like myself that’s trying to cut back on calories, the Impossible Burger is a perfect alternative option for you. – David Plowden, David’s Manor.
